Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage purchasing activities for construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely procurement, and supporting project teams by maintaining cost-effective and quality-driven procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Obtain and compare quotations to ensure cost-effective purchasing
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Coordinate with project, engineering, and site teams to understand material requirements
  • Track orders, deliveries, and inventory to avoid delays at project sites
  • Ensure materials meet technical specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues
  • Support cost control and budgeting activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and suppliers
  • Experience with supplier negotiation and contract management
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP procurement systems
  • Good understanding of local market pricing and sourcing

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with construction ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Primavera, etc.)
  • Knowledge of UAE procurement regulations and standards
  • Familiarity with logistics, inventory control, and site coordination
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience working in UAE or GCC construction markets
