Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in site supervision of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection/LPG across building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate must be well-versed with Dubai Municipality (DM), DEWA, and DCD standards and capable of ensuring that site execution aligns with approved designs and specifications.

Responisbilities:

  • Supervise and monitor all mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting/LPG) on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and authority regulations.
  • Review and approve material submittals, shop drawings, and method statements submitted by contractors.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality, safety compliance, and project progress.
  • Attend site inspections and testing/commissioning of mechanical systems and ensure they meet regulatory and project standards.
  • Coordinate and communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical) to ensure smooth execution of works.
  • Respond to RFIs (Request for Information) and resolve technical issues arising during construction in coordination with the design office when necessary.
  • Liaise with local authorities (DM, DEWA, DCD, etc.) during inspections and ensure works meet the required codes and standards.
  • Verify contractor compliance with approved mechanical plans and report non-conformities or delays.
  • Prepare daily/weekly site supervision reports, progress updates, and site memos.
  • Ensure site activities adhere to project timeline, cost, quality, and safety requirements

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of overall mechanical site supervision experience, with at least 5 years in a consultancy role within Dubai.
  • In-depth knowledge of DM, DEWA, DCD regulations and international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, etc.).
  • Experience handling construction supervision of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
  • Strong understanding of site practices, technical details, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency in reviewing technical documents – shop drawings, submittals, and method statements.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and site coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DM/DCD-approved Mechanical Engineer is an advantage.
  • Experience working on landmark or high-rise projects in the UAE.
  • Knowledge of Dubai Green Building Regulations, Estidama, or LEED standards.
  • Familiarity with ADDC/SEWA/FEWA codes is a plus.
