We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Railway Electrical Engineer to support the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems for railway, metro, and large-scale transportation infrastructure projects in Sharjah, UAE.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all electrical engineering activities — including traction power systems, substations, station electrification, signaling interfaces, power distribution, and MEP coordination — are delivered in compliance with international railway standards, UAE regulations, safety requirements, and project specifications. This is a high-responsibility, high-paying role suited for professionals with strong technical expertise and infrastructure project experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and approve electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and technical specifications for rail/metro systems including traction power, substations, station electricals, signaling power, and auxiliary systems.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise electrical engineering works for rail/metro infrastructure such as stations, depots, tunnels, power substations, and control rooms.
- Perform electrical load calculations, power distribution planning, earthing & grounding systems design, cable routing, backup power systems (UPS, generators), and energy efficiency assessments.
- Conduct regular site inspections, testing, commissioning, and validation of electrical installations to ensure compliance with project quality standards and safety regulations.
- Monitor electrical project schedules, costs, and progress; report deviations and propose corrective actions.
- Coordinate closely with civil, mechanical, MEP, signaling, and systems integration teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, fault analysis, and maintenance activities in operational railway/metro environments.
- Prepare and review technical reports, commissioning documentation, method statements, risk assessments, and progress reports for management and clients.
- Assist in procurement planning, technical evaluation of electrical materials, vendor/subcontractor coordination, and FAT/SAT processes.
- Identify technical risks related to electrical safety, system reliability, and regulatory compliance; recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure strict adherence to UAE railway/metro regulations, international standards (IEC, IEEE, EN), safety codes, and best engineering practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5–12 years of experience in electrical engineering roles, preferably in railway, metro, transportation, or large infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical power systems, traction power, substations, MEP systems, earthing & grounding, and safety standards.
- Prior experience in GCC/UAE infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Electrical), electrical design and calculation software, and familiarity with project management tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work on active construction sites including stations, tunnels, depots, and substations.
- Knowledge of international railway standards and UAE regulatory requirements is a strong advantage.
- Relevant certifications (Electrical Safety, PMP, Rail/Transportation Systems, etc.) are considered a plus.
