Reach Stack Operator
Job Description
A reputed port terminal, shipping logistics, or container handling company in Bulgaria is hiring a skilled Reach Stacker Operator to handle sea container movement, stacking, loading, and unloading operations in container yards and port areas. The candidate will be responsible for operating reach stacker machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring smooth container flow, maintaining equipment condition, and following all port safety regulations. The ideal candidate should have experience in heavy equipment operation and container handling in logistics environments.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Operate reach stacker machine to lift, move, stack, and organize sea containers
✔ Load and unload containers from trucks, trailers, and storage yards
✔ Stack containers safely as per yard planning and operational instructions
✔ Inspect equipment before and after operation (hydraulics, brakes, tyres, controls)
✔ Monitor container weight limits and machine load capacity during operations
✔ Coordinate with port staff, crane operators, and logistics teams
✔ Ensure safe handling of containers in busy port and yard environments
✔ Perform basic maintenance checks and report technical issues
✔ Maintain operation logs and container movement records
✔ Follow strict port safety and cargo handling regulations
Requirements:
✔ 2–5 years of experience as a Reach Stacker Operator / Container Handler
✔ Valid heavy equipment operating license preferred
✔ Knowledge of container yard operations and port safety procedures
✔ Ability to understand load limits and machine controls
✔ Experience working in port, shipping, or logistics industry is an advantage
✔ Good communication and coordination skills
✔ Physically fit and able to work in outdoor industrial environments
