Health And Safety Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Officer to ensure a safe and compliant working environment across our construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, minimizing risks, and ensuring full compliance with local regulations and international safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
• Ensure compliance with UAE safety regulations, project specifications, and company HSE standards.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for workers and staff.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices across all activities.
• Coordinate with site management to enforce safety measures and emergency response plans.
• Maintain HSE documentation, records, and reports.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience as a Health and Safety Officer, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment, and safety management systems.
• Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and enforce safety standards effectively.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 standards.
• Experience working on UAE or GCC construction projects.
• First Aid and Fire Safety certification.
