Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant to manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensure timely month-end closings, and support financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and hands-on experience with general ledger accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the general ledger with accuracy and integrity
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies
- Support internal and external audits
- Handle VAT accounting and regulatory filings
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
- Coordinate with AP, AR, and finance teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in general ledger accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS
- Experience with accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
Preferred Skills
- Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA)
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience in multi-entity or group accounting
- Audit and compliance exposure
- Strong communication and coordination abilities
