Highway Maintenance Worker
Job Description
STRABAG is looking for dedicated Highway Maintenance Workers for ongoing road and motorway maintenance projects in Romania. The role involves maintaining highways, repairing damaged road surfaces, cleaning roadside areas, assisting with resurfacing work, and ensuring roads remain safe for public use. Candidates should be physically fit, safety-focused, and comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine highway inspection and maintenance work
- Repair potholes, cracks, and damaged road surfaces
- Assist in asphalt patching and resurfacing projects
- Install and maintain road signs, barriers, and safety equipment
- Clear roadside debris, drainage systems, and work zones
- Operate basic maintenance tools and small construction equipment
- Support emergency road repair work when required
- Follow workplace safety procedures and site regulations
- Work with maintenance teams to complete projects on time
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in road maintenance / construction work
- Basic knowledge of asphalt repair and road safety procedures
- Physically fit and capable of handling manual labor
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Basic English communication skills preferred
- Team-oriented, responsible, and hardworking attitude
- Driving license is an advantage
- Experience in highway, road, or infrastructure projects preferred
