Construction Engineer / Project Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Construction Engineer / Project Engineer to support the planning, execution, and monitoring of construction projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with the project management team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Supervise site activities and ensure work is carried out as per design and standards
- Monitor project progress and report deviations or issues to project management
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure smooth workflow
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks on materials and workmanship
- Support cost control by tracking project expenses and material usage
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations
- Prepare progress reports, site documentation, and technical records
- Assist in resolving technical and operational issues on site
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in construction projects, preferably in residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Familiarity with UAE construction standards and regulations
Preferred Skills
- Experience with project management software (Primavera, MS Project, AutoCAD)
- Knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, and quantity surveying
- Familiarity with quality management systems and HSE standards
- Experience working in UAE or GCC construction projects
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
