Job Description

An Arabic Translator is responsible for converting written and spoken material from Arabic to another language (such as English) and vice versa, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance. They work with documents, websites, reports, legal texts, educational materials, marketing content, and audio/video files. The role requires strong linguistic skills, attention to detail, and cultural understanding to preserve the meaning and tone of the original content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate written documents, audio, and video content from Arabic to English (or other languages) and vice versa.
  • Ensure accuracy, grammar correctness, and cultural/situational appropriateness during translation.
  • Edit, proofread, and review translated content for clarity and quality.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely.
  • Work with content creators, legal teams, marketing departments, and publishers to refine translations.
  • Localize content for marketing, websites, social media, and promotional campaigns.
  • Create subtitles, captions, and transcription when required.
  • Use translation tools and maintain translation memory for consistency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, Literature, or relevant field.
  • Excellent command of Arabic (Native/Fluent) and English or other required languages.
  • Strong grammar, vocabulary, writing, and communication skills.
  • Cultural knowledge and understanding of regional Arabic dialects (Gulf, Levantine, Egyptian, etc.).
  • Experience with translation software (CAT tools like SDL Trados, MemoQ, Google Workspace, MS Office).
  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple projects.

Experience

  • 1–5 years of professional translation or interpretation experience.
  • Experience in legal, medical, technical, academic, or marketing translation is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Full-time or part-time roles, remote or office-based.
