Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and accurate Cashier to join our retail/ store/ hospitality team in Umm-Al-Quwain. The ideal candidate will handle customer payments, manage cash register transactions, and ensure a smooth checkout process while providing good customer service and maintaining accuracy in billing and record‑keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers, handle check‑outs, process payments (cash, card, digital) and issue receipts/bills.
  • Scan or record purchased items, ensure correct pricing, handle returns or exchanges if needed.
  • Maintain cash register, ensure register balance at start and end of shifts, handle cash safely and accurately.
  • Provide friendly customer interaction, assist customers with queries, bagging items, or directing them as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier desk / checkout area.
  • Coordinate with store staff for inventory, sales, and customer requests.
  • Keep records of daily transactions; report sales/cash-flow or any discrepancies as per store policy.
  • Ensure compliance with store policies, customer service standards, and provide a professional experience.
  • Assist in other related tasks as needed (stock checking, restocking shelves, store maintenance, etc.).

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (secondary school certificate); additional qualifications are a plus.
  • Basic retail experience or customer‑service/cashier background preferred (freshers may also be considered).
  • Good communication skills (English required; additional languages like Arabic, Hindi/Urdu, etc. can be advantageous).
  • Honest, reliable, with good integrity — ability to handle cash responsibly.
  • Basic computer or POS (Point‑of‑Sale) system skills; familiarity with billing/checkout systems is a plus.
  • Energetic, friendly, customer‑oriented, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in shifts — possibly weekends/holidays depending on store / employer.
