Cargo Agent
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Cargo Agent to manage and coordinate the handling, documentation, and movement of cargo shipments in compliance with aviation and customs regulations. The ideal candidate should have strong logistics knowledge, excellent communication skills, and prior experience in cargo operations within the UAE or GCC region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and process import and export cargo shipments efficiently.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, airway bills, invoices, and customs declarations.
- Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, and clients to ensure smooth cargo movement.
- Track shipments and provide real-time updates to customers and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with IATA, airport authority, and customs regulations.
- Monitor cargo handling to prevent damage, loss, or delays.
- Maintain accurate cargo records and reports.
- Support warehouse operations, including cargo loading, offloading, and labeling.
- Assist in resolving customer queries and operational discrepancies promptly.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in air cargo, freight forwarding, or logistics operations.
- Knowledge of IATA and UAE customs procedures is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Office and cargo management software (e.g., Cargospot, Hermes).
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
