Excavator Mechanic

Job Description

A reputed construction equipment company, mining contractor, or industrial maintenance firm in Bulgaria is hiring a skilled Excavator Mechanic to inspect, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot excavators and heavy construction machinery used on job sites. The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing engine issues, repairing hydraulic systems, servicing mechanical components, and ensuring excavators operate safely and efficiently with minimum downtime. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Inspect excavators and identify mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical faults
✔ Perform preventive maintenance, oil changes, filter replacement, and routine servicing
✔ Repair diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and transmission systems
✔ Diagnose faults in engine systems, cooling systems, brakes, and electrical controls
✔ Replace damaged parts such as hoses, belts, seals, bearings, filters, and components
✔ Use diagnostic equipment and maintenance tools for troubleshooting
✔ Test machinery after repairs to ensure proper performance and safety
✔ Maintain service records and report major repair needs
✔ Follow workshop safety standards and equipment maintenance procedures
✔ Coordinate with machine operators and site supervisors to reduce equipment downtime

Requirements:

✔ 2–5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment / Excavator Mechanic
✔ Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and excavator repair systems
✔ Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment faults
✔ Experience using repair tools, workshop machines, and diagnostic equipment
✔ Basic understanding of technical manuals and service instructions
✔ Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
✔ Physically fit for workshop / field maintenance work
