Teaching Assistant – Cyber Security

Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Teaching Assistant – Cyber Security to support academic delivery, lab sessions, and student learning in cyber security programs. The ideal candidate will assist instructors, guide students in practical exercises, and help maintain a high-quality learning environment aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist faculty in delivering cyber security lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions
• Support students with hands-on labs, assignments, and projects
• Prepare and maintain lab environments, tools, and virtual machines
• Assist in grading assignments, assessments, and exams as required
• Provide one-on-one or group academic support to students
• Help develop course materials, presentations, and practical exercises
• Monitor student progress and report academic concerns to faculty
• Ensure compliance with academic policies and lab safety standards
• Support cyber security workshops, seminars, and training sessions
• Stay updated with emerging cyber threats, tools, and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience in cyber security, IT security, or academic support roles
• Strong understanding of cyber security fundamentals (network security, ethical hacking, SOC basics)
• Hands-on experience with security tools, labs, or simulations
• Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking concepts
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to support students in a learning-focused environment

Preferred Skills

• Relevant certifications such as CEH, Security+, CCNA Security, or equivalent
• Experience with SIEM tools, penetration testing labs, or SOC environments
• Familiarity with cloud security fundamentals
• Teaching, mentoring, or training experience
• Ability to work in academic or training institute environments
